In September, the entire RIA in a Box® team gathered in Cleveland, Ohio for its annual company retreat. This past year, RIA in a Box added 20 new team members across the country making this year’s event especially exciting. This 2-day event was filled with competition, team-building, bonding, product innovation, and a focus on giving back to the community.

The first day of the 2nd annual RIA in a Box company color wars kicked off kicked-off with some fun, but serious, competition. The company divided into six different teams to compete in a series of events for their charity of choice. RIA in a Box® strongly encourages our employees to take an active role in local communities and to pursue personal interests outside of the office. As part of this initiative, throughout the year team members have the opportunity to take a half-day off to support their own personal interest or local charity as part of the company’s Bucket List program.

To further this initiative, each event had corporate charity dollars at stake for non-profit organizations chosen by each of the six teams which included Children’s Cancer Recovery Foundation, Dogs on Deployment, Ronald McDonald House Charities, CureSearch, Project Outrun, and the American Cancer Society, making the competition not only fierce, but also even more meaningful.

The color war competition included the following events:

  • Bowling
  • 3-point Basketball Shootout
  • Soccer
  • Volleyball
  • Tennis
  • Texas Hold ‘Em Poker Tournament
  • Ping-Pong
  • MyRIACompliance® New Feature Contest

On the second day, the the entire company gathered together for breakfast and reviewed the company’s key achievements this past year along with discussing new 2020 initiatives focused around improving the service we provide to our clients. The day ended with one last competition: the annual MyRIACompliance® new feature contest.  After two event-filled days, the Blue Team, playing for the Children’s Recovery Foundation came out victorious.  All teams, however, raised money for all six charities.
